Comments:

(by County)
  • ANNE ARUNDEL: Excellent flovors but unable to produce enough fruit at the site to recommend future plantings.
  • CARROLL: Very good quality but scraggly growth.
  • CECIL: Replanting all of it. Intolerant of just about anything (disease, growing conditions, etc.). I don't need a plant that requires so much TLC.
  • QUEEN ANNE'S: Very slow grower. Takes 5 years to get 1st crop. Tough skins, fairly disease resistant, makes a delightful wine if patient.
  • QUEEN ANNE'S: 2nd leaf is growing very slow for us and probably should be nirrigation.
  • ST. MARY'S: Grows well but yields poorly due to poor fruit set.

Recommendations:
Must fully develop before picking. Can have low yields. Appears to be be fairly intolerant of wet years.

Considerations:
Best drunk young. Can be made dry or as a dessert style Has a 'cult' following on the East Coast Can add fruit peach and apricot aromas when used as a blender.
